Re: Andy Carroll
Doubtful for the Watford game! For fucks sake are we fans the only ones who actually get it?

Carroll is a fucking crock . Time and time again we have relied on him and been badly let down and caught short by his aweful injury record. Remember starting the season with miaga up front on his own ??

Yet the fucking bellends running our club continue to cross their fingers over his fitness and do NOTHING to fix it. Buy a fucking striker!! why the fuck can they not learn their lesson??

I include bilic in this because he has been caught twice this season with the same blindness. Either that or he's just a nodding donkey yes man.

It wasn't cheap at the time we bought him.

It is quite cheap now, though.

Re: Andy Carroll
Trundle, agreed but not cheap? not sure the Carroll deal could ever be classed as cheap?

Re: Andy Carroll
£15m for a current England international (which he was after Euro 2012) was about right for that time.

For example, Danny Welbeck went for a little more to Arsenal a season or 2 after.

Re: Andy Carroll
re the injury

I'd say he's fucked again

but lets not worry about the lost revenue in league placings due to lack of depth up front because our very rich owners are going to make sure they have a very good summer transfer window

they'd have had a full year to sort this striker so it cant go wrong

Re: Andy Carroll
Tex

That was due to the figure paid for Torres

Carroll was not cheap at 15m at that time

Re: Andy Carroll
You'd have to be demented to think that a £15m transfer fee and a 6 year £86k a week transfer was CHEAP

£35m was a british record transfer fee

Re: Andy Carroll
It was cheap...15million...

Pool paid 35million a couple of years earlier...

Re: Andy Carroll
funny though in the same statement they say that they anticapte Cresswell making Watford while Ac they say he working towards it. Sounds to me like AC's injury is not quite as precautionary as they always tell us!

I give it til the end of the month for the announcement he'll require surgery on his groin putting him out 8 weeks and effectively ending his season.

Re: Andy Carroll
Well of course he's working towards the Watford game. He was out for the previous game with a minor injury, so would be targeting the next game. Utter non story.

Re: Andy Carroll
Just think...

If we had to replace him with a fully fit equivalent striker...it would be 50million...

We got him cheap for a reason...

Re: Andy Carroll
Andy Carroll is a doubt for the trip to Vicarage Road nine days from now, according to Chief Medic Stijn Vandenbroucke.

The big striker, whose career at the club has been plagued by a succession of injuries has been playing through another longstanding (and unexplained) injury according to Vandenbroucke, who revealed that Carroll was by no means certain to regain fitness in time for the Watford clash.

"Andy picked up a injury earlier this year," he told whufc.com. "We got him fit enough to face Middlesbrough and then also to face Southampton, but the West Bromwich Albion game came too quick. Andy is now working towards the Watford game."

Hi Trevor/plw/74/Texas,

That is how they FEEL?

Well, fucking hell, we can expect a fully fit Carroll for forever more. Or maybe they are HOPING that he doesn't break down completely for the 5th time in 4 years?

Have a wonderful Friday.

One-on-one battle to watch Andy Carroll vs West Broms central defenders

Gareth Southgate will check out West Hams Andy Carroll on Saturday as England boss prepares to name squad for Germany and Lithuania matches, read the MailOnlines headline on Thursday morning.

Two months ago that would have made us raise our eyebrows higher than a Carlo Ancelotti tribute act, but now it seems perfectly logical. Daniel Sturridge isnt playing, Jamie Vardy isnt scoring, Wayne Rooney is no longer a striker and Danny Welbeck must be left alone to gain strength after injury. If its a good time to be called Harry Kane, its also a good time to be an Andy Carroll back from injury and scoring goals.

Carrolls continuous fight against his bodys weaknesses set the bar low, but it is still extraordinary to think that the striker has scored 9% of his career Premier League goals in the last four matches. It also demonstrates that, should he stay fit, he will always be a consideration for international call-up. No other England striker offers quite the same as handy Andy.
